Overview of the original Land Rover – Defender
1948 was the year that the first Land Rover was built. It was termed series 1. Based on the traditional American Jeep, which it shared parts with. Today its used and still being made with famous uses in the British Army and expeditions. It comes in three main model types, the 90, 110 and 130, with the latter being the longest wheel base. They are know as tough off vehicles yet still be used as every day cars by some.
